The Mid-Year Budget Review – Finance (Supplementary Appropriation) (Financial Year 2024) Bill, delivered today, outlines key economic initiatives for the fiscal year 2024, which the T&T Chamber views as crucial for stimulating economic growth and development in our country.

As we approach the mid-year budget review, we anticipate that the Finance Minister will focus on providing a comprehensive update on the state of the economy. Given the nature of this review, significant changes to fiscal measures are unlikely.

T&T Chamber: Statement on Tax Compliance and Payment Systems

The Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce (T&T Chamber) supports effective tax compliance mechanisms for businesses. Various methods are available for settling taxes with the Board of Inland Revenue (BIR), including electronic transfers via TransACH and SafeTT, and physical payments using debit cards, cheques, or cash. Non-residents can utilize the BIR’s wire transfer facility.
