About the Champions of Business Awards

 

Champions of Business (COB) is an initiative of the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce, which recognises and celebrates excellence in business and new and emerging businesses in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean. The Champions of Business Awards Ceremony, held annually, is the final, and culminating Signature Event of the Chamber. It was first introduced in 2005 as the Business Hall of Fame Awards, with our founder, Leon Agostini, being the first inductee in the Business Hall of Fame.

The awards ceremony was expanded and rebranded in 2014 as the Champions of Business, as it is now called. This prestigious event now encompasses the made-for-TV series “Champions of Business True Stories” and our live Awards Finale, held annually in November. The Champions of Business Awards celebrate excellence and capture a spectrum of achievements in business that includes awarding entrepreneurs in the Small and Medium (SME) Sector who have exhibited unique business development, creativity, innovation and technology development.

The COB Awards also recognises businesses that have made a significant mark on achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting a Green Agenda. The Awards also recognise manufacturers who have placed Trinidad and Tobago on the global map by penetrating international markets. This year, the Chamber has added a new category: The Caribbean Services Exporter of the Year Award. Supported by Caribbean Export Development Agency, it recognises Caribbean services exporters demonstrating sustained cross-border growth and measurable export performance. The award positions the region’s top firms/services providers within a credible regional framework.

Each category of the COB Awards is hinged on both business acumen and corporate social responsibility. The Award categories are tailored to individuals and companies and are open to businesses operating within Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean region, whether they are members of the TT Chamber or non-members. These Awards are truly aligned to the ethos and vision of the TT Chamber and our partner sponsors who all have taken the opportunity to honour the outstanding individuals and corporations shaping Trinidad and Tobago.

About the Champions of Business Awards Programme

An initiative of the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Champions of Business Awards programme was established in 2005 with the first induction into the Business Hall of Fame.

 

The programme celebrates excellence across a wide spectrum of business achievements from small business development and innovation to sustainability, international expansion, and legacy building. Each award category reflects both business acumen and a commitment to corporate responsibility. The awards are open to all businesses and individuals operating in Trinidad and Tobago and within the Caribbean region, irrespective of their membership status with the TT Chamber.

 

True Stories Series

The Champions of Business programme features a two-part, made-for-television series titled “Champions of Business: True Stories.”

Each year, the inspiring journeys of awardees are showcased in the True Stories series, which chronicles their triumphs, trials, and growth.
