The T&T Chamber is happy to hear that the Government has been able to acquire more vaccines. We look forward to details on the amount of vaccines acquired and the timing of the vaccination rollout plan. The announcement of additional vaccines will assist in reducing the level of anxiety among the population, as our rate of vaccination is relatively low in comparison to some other Caribbean countries.

existing measures were already in place to limit the spread of COVID-19, What is needed is
robust enforcement of the current measures.
The Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce held its Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at which a Board of Directors was elected to serve a one year term over 2021-2022. This meeting was held virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions and as allowed in the company’s by-laws.
The kidnapping and death of Andrea Bharatt, following closely on the heels of several abductions, sexual assaults and murders of women prompted widespread vigils across Trinidad and Tobago and a call for voluntary business closures last Friday. These actions taken by our population are indicative of a wind of change that is blowing in our country – Trinidad and Tobago will not accept the status quo.
The T&T Chamber is firm on its stance for strict enforcement of the law and maintains zero tolerance for
any form of corruption.
In fact, we have been fearlessly advocating for the enactment, proclamation and enforcement of legislation to address issues related to procurement, freedom of information, campaign finance reform and whistleblower protection.
The Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce notes that today, the Government has taken another step in restarting the economy by allowing some sectors which were partially open to have increased activity. We note that they have maintained the reduced customer densities to conform to physical distancing guidelines and we fully support this…
