SME AWARD 2023 – Trinidad & Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce

Celebrating the contribution of SMEs to the TT economy, this award recognises the Small to Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME) that has maintained consistent growth and strong financial performance, understands its customer, has an engaged workforce with effective leadership, demonstrated effective use of technology/digital media to engage with all stakeholders (customers, employees, etc.) and is continually innovating to support future growth.

Companies that have shown growth in customers or revenue over the last five years in the services or produce sector will be recognised in this category.

The SME Category is broken into two awards:

i) Small Business Award

Eligibility: Open to all Trinidad and Tobago registered companies having a minimum 51% Trinbagonian ownership, employing 6-25 workers, and generating revenues ranging from TT$500,000 to TT$2.99 million. The company must be financially stable and operational for at least three years.

ii) Medium Sized Business Award

Eligibility: Open to all Trinidad and Tobago-registered enterprises with a least 51% Trinbagonian ownership, employing 26-50 persons, and having revenues ranging from TT$3 million to TT$50 million. The company must be financially stable and operational for at least 5 years.

Each category will consist of one winner.

The winner will demonstrate how their business concept has met and overcome challenges, adopted a clear understanding of their market, shown innovation, built a strong team and has the foundations in place for continued success and potential expansion.

Provide evidence to which the innovation sufficiently addresses the problem it seeks to solve at a cost or model that is accessible to the target market and can generate profits or is self-sustainable. Note: Management accounts are acceptable for this submission.
Scalability*
Describe the extent to which the solution can be easily applied to other similar markets beyond the applicant’s immediate or local environment.
Marketing Strength*
1) Describe and Provide evidence on how your product/ service is packaged or presented to your target market. For example - packaging, point of sale materials, advertising, distribution or company profile
Marketing Strength*
2) Provide details on what type of advertising vehicles are used. For example - traditional, experiential, digital marketing inclusive of social media
Employee and Customer Engagement*
Please describe your staff & customer engagement programmes or processes and how they successfully deliver the strategy or vision and enabled growth or efficiency.
Responsible Business Practices*
Does the company or individual being nominated support or conduct any corporate social responsibility initiatives (CSR) or environment social governance (ESG)?
Financial Performance*
Demonstrate your company's financial performance by submitting reports to substantiate the company's financial position by. a. Profit-and-loss statements for the last three years; b. Balance sheets for the fiscal years 2020, 2021, and 2022.
Company Profile*
Provide a profile of your company that demonstrates all the relevant elements and information about the company such as vision, mission, milestones, brand story etc.
